Each year, RVwest magazine surveys its approximately 30,000 readers for their recommendations for dealers. The 2008 results (published in Feb 2009 edition) are presented here. All quotes are from the dealer web sites unless otherwise noted.
Favorite RV Dealers in British Columbia
Four BC RV dealers got the nod from RVwest subscribers:
- Platinum - Fraserway RV Center, Abbotsford - "9 locations Coast to Coast ...extensive selection of sales inventory...rental units...extensive RV parts and camping accessories". Fraserway also won top spot for "favorite RV repair or service center" in BC.
- Gold - Runners RV, Cranbrook - "the Kootenays' largest RV dealer ...complete inventory of parts, accessories and camping equipment...huge selection of new and pre-owned RVs"
- Silver - O'Connor RV, Langley/Chilliwack -"Serving the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley for more than 30 years...a friendly 'no pressure' approach".
- Bronze - Arbutus RV & Marine, Mill Bay - "Vancouver Island & BC's largest RV Dealer...Sales, Parts and Full Service Department" - Five locations on Vancouver island including the Mill Bay store.
Favorite RV Dealers in Alberta
AB winners included the following four RV stores:
- Platinum - Woody's RV World, Edmonton, Red Deer, and Calgary - "..state of the art RV Lifestyle Centre...massive indoor showroom, technical shops and a lifestyle display complete with Mountain view." The new center will be in Calgary, Alberta.
- Gold - Western RV Country, Edmonton, Calgary, Leduc, Lethbridge and Airdrie -"one of the largest inventory of preowned RVs in Alberta...largest RV dealer in Alberta".
- Silver - Skyline Travel Centre, Lethbridge - "A full service dealer...more than 45 years and two generations in the RV industry...Southern Alberta's premier RV Sales and Service Center."
- Bronze - High River Auto Plex & RV, High River (south of Calgary) - " new 40,000 sq ft facility....10th anniversary in business!"
Favorite RV Dealers in Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan has the most solid economy in Canada in the first quarter 2009 , giving a rosy future to the top three SK dealers:
- Platinum - Village RV, Regina - "Saskatchewan's Largest RV Dealer...in business in Regina for the past 39 years...full service dealership."
- Gold - Sherwood RV, Saskatoon - There was no information about this company on their web site.
- Silver - Terry's RV World, Davidson - Web site under construction
- Bronze - no award
By helping the buyer think through some important criteria - areas of travel, number of people, future needs, available budget, financing choices - a dealer can recommend the most suitable units. And of course, a good dealer is there long after the sale, to help with maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
